Someone in my union has one, they have a hard top too, the plate has thang in it, I forget the exact plate.

Very dependent on location due to salt air, road salt, and other factors. In PA in the 80s they were all steadily rusting away. Here in CO, where the snow/ice chemical game is much more car friendly and a humid day is 20%, I regularly see one or two per month most of the year, especially summer. Confounding factor is also that any of them left now are likely beloved vehicles that are well taken care of, too.

You’re in California. What you think of as severe rust we up north consider easily repairable.
